Our partners are making an incredible effort to support Ukraine’s ‘children of war’. They are making an amazing contribution to the mental health of a generation of young people suffering from the most terrible of traumatic events – war and the loss of all they have known. The ‘Teen Club’ at Salvation Church, Poltava meets at least once a week and provides a wide range of fun experiences helping young people develop happy memories despite the difficult times. Activities also increase confidence and self-esteem; reduce the likelihood of anxiety and depression in later life; help recovery after the war and give each one of these young people ‘a future and a hope.’
The photographs below are from the ‘Teen Club’ at Salvation Church, Poltava. Who would have thought a sleepover at church could be such fun – sleepover may be a misnomer as they didn’t actually go to sleep until 4am!
Please make a donation, if you can, so that we can send additional funds to our partners in Ukraine enabling them to buy presents, sweets and hold Christmas Fun Days for children and young people.
We send funds to our partners each month – the spending priority is relief aid for the most vulnerable – food, medicines and essential hygiene products.
Our Winter Appeal is being used to buy Eco-Flow battery power packs for warmth and light as Russia continues to launch massive attacks on Ukraine’s energy infrastructure.
The link for donations is above this post.
